ESOMAR opens nominations for the 2009 Excellence Award
AMSTERDAM 10 June 2009 - ESOMAR, the world’s foremost organisation for enabling better research into markets, consumers and societies has opened nominations for the third bi-annual John Downham Award - the Excellence Award for Standards of Performance in Market Research.
This prestigious Award recognises outstanding achievements from individuals or organisations in market, opinion and social research at an international level.
Initiatives can include, but are not limited to innovative or rigorous approaches that encourage or broaden the application of standards and add credibility to the profession.
Launched in 2005, the Award was developed in honour of John Downham, an industry leader who championed the development of international codes and guidelines for the industry worldwide.
Nominations are received by ESOMAR until 24 July as a written submission of up to 750 words, describing why the person or organisation deserves the Award. The submission must clearly articulate how the initiative or achievements created a successful outcome and a positive impact on the profession.
The winner of the 10,000 Euro cash prize will be announced at ESOMAR's Annual Congress in Montreux in September 2009. The Award can be won by an individual or organisation, whether or not they are a member of ESOMAR. Nominations must be made by an ESOMAR member and members are free to nominate themselves or their colleagues.
